Ask the Thinker : Athletic Preparation vs. Strength Training

Each week, Juggernaut will take your questions and produce a video response to your questions in a series called, “Ask The Thinker”. The first video in this series is below, in this video James addresses the question, “What differences exist when properly preparing an athlete for sport performance when compared to traditional ‘strength training’ methods?”

2003-2011 National Football League, Track and Field, Mixed Martial Arts, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Wrestling, European Football, Basketball, Swimming, Baseball, Volleyball

Most recent notables have been his work with Dorin Dickerson who was drafted in the seventh round to Houston a year ago. At the NFL Scouting combine he was recorded at reaching 24mph crossing the finish line of is 40yd dash and recording a hand time ranging between 4.36-4.40. This was the fastest time of all tight ends in the combine. In addition, Dorin recorded the highest vertical jump in the entire combine- 43.5” and the longest broad jumps of all tight ends- 10’6”. In addition, he worked with other standout players that include LeSean McCoy (Philadelphia Eagles), LaRod Stephens-Howling (Arizona Cardinals), Scott McKillop (San Francisco 49ers), and Dion Lewis and Jon Baldwin who competed at the Scouting Combine this past February. Baldwin scored the second highest vertical jump in the entire combine- 42” and the second farthest broad jump in the receiver group- 10’9”.

Other recent notables are his 17 published DVDs and books since 2004, being a featured lecturer at numerous strength summits, he has also been a consultant to the Department of Defense Personnel.
