    This is the Holy Grail of Powerlifting Program designing.
    I’m a coach for nearly 15 Years now and many of my Athletes earned national titles and keep improving from competition to competition ….
    but after reading this book, it brought my programming for them to the next level.
    Great work from Chad Wesley Smith. Should be a must read for every coach to come!

    No joke – this has EVERYTHING. If you’re into PL or even remotely interested on the topic, get this. This book is vast! If think to yourself “does this book cover…?” then the answer yes, it really does!

    This is a very good read that gives light to many aspects of powerlifting programming and is very informational. However, there are a few grey areas that aren’t explained in much detail.

    So far The Powerlifting Program Design Manual, coupled with The Scientific Principles of Strength Training book have been helpful. (I purchased both at the same time)

    At 58 yoa I am very new to weightlifting beyond using basic cable machines at my local gym. I was always “focus on cardio and meh when I have time for strength training” kind of guy. Multiple ankle surgeries and age related joint pain from mostly arthritis (mainly knees) have made cardio very difficult. Weightlifting has helped me to return to getting in shape, losing weight, and gaining muscle. But I am (1) in the strictest sense a novice and (2) leery of injuring myself. This is where the books have helped.

    There is a lot of material. A lot! I’m using the books in conjunction with Juggernaut’s YouTube channel. (I recommend subscribing.) So I’m moving slowly through the material and trying to learn. But so far I’m very pleased at what I’m learning, while frequently reminded of how little I knew about the benefits of strength training.
