Working with Juggernaut and my coach Anthony Pomponio has completely changed how I think about training. I’ve realized the importance of training for the long term to avoid injuries, and through that smart programming I’ve been able to PR my snatch and clean & jerk while losing 10kg of bodyweight! Furthermore, Pomp has helped structure my training around my school and lab work which is a necessity for me as a graduate student.
Pomp is a master of the technical side of programming and coaching, but what’s really made the experience stand out is his incredibly attentive, tailored and hands-on coaching style, which has been perfect for me as someone in their mid 30’s with a busy career and family life to juggle with training, as well as an injury history. Within the first few weeks of working together, we’d put several kilos on my total and made major technique improvements I’d be trying for years to fix. Working with Pomp has been a game changer!
Prior to working with JTS and Pomp specifically, I was an aspiring weightlifter and part time Crossfitter. After filling out the initial questionnaire I was worried about setting too high of a goal. But I can confidentially say after months of hard work, methodical programming, and consistent guidance and motivation that I'm closer to reaching these goals and lifting on a national level, than I ever would have been going anywhere else. Overall program is challenging, yet realistic and never overbearing. The planned workload is attuned specifically to my capacity and with the planned deload, I've never been bored or in need of 'time-off'. My love the sport has only grown through exposure from Pomp and the JTS system.
